KyPass Companion v0.2

Here is already the v0.2 of KyPass Companion with a big improvement:

– KyPass Companion is now fully compatible with KeePassHTTP. It mean that you can use the Chrome & Firefox add-on on your Mac !
– Opened database are also restored at the opening of KyPass Companion.

All you have to do is download “KyPass Companion”, run it, open a KeePass database and install a browser extension:

– Chrome: Download if from Chrome Web Store (thanks to Perry Nguyen)
– Firefox: Download if from https://passifox.appspot.com/passifox.xpi  (thanks to Perry Nguyen)
– Safari: Go in the preferences panel of KyPass Companion and click on the “Install Safari extension” button.

Apple refuse to approve KyPass Companion (problem with the sandbox).
But I know you wait for it!
Here is the KyPass Companion for Mac OS X!

This little application will allow you to have auto-fill function in your Safari browser like Lastpass or 1Password with your KeePass database(s).

Each time you go on a website with Safari, the kypass «safari addon» check in the kypass «local server» the url. If an entry contains this url, you’ll be able to complete the web form with the username/password.

Features:

  • Fills out web forms with one click.
  • Allows to use multilple Keepass database at the same time.
  • Save your master password in Apple Keychain
  • Support key file.
  • Keepass v1 AND v2 are supported.

How to use it ?

  • Run KyPass Companion and go in the preference panel. Install the plugin and be sure that the “open at startup” checkbox is checked.
  • Open a database and enjoy fills out in Safari.

KyPass add-on for Safari

A KyPass add-on for Mountain Lion will be sent to Apple this week.

  • This application will allow you to have auto-fill function in your Safari browser like Lastpass or 1Password with your Keepass database(s).
  • You also be able to copy your Keepass database in iCloud. So the next version of KyPass on iPhone/iPad could open it.
