By sandboxing I mean prevent the application from making any network call (except maybe to your own domain) or writing any file out (less a worry on ios). Software code is the weak link and it's tested at every release.
It's indeed a problem on desktop too (I did mention macos) but I don't use KyPass there ;-) On desktop firewalls can be used (partially better) or containers (safest but unusable by non-technical users).

But hey. That's something you have to ask Apple for. If this would be an app function, how would you trust that mechanism?
Apple can block apps from using mobile data, but it cannot block and app from all data, or limit it to specific connections. But it would be a function that would have to come from Apple.
