KyPass issues with browser extensions

Post by chahir.von-schwerin » Mon Jan 07, 2019 5:24 pm

Anyone else experiencing the following issues? I'm still on OSX HighSierra (10.13.x)

Issue with Chrome & Firefox
When connecting KyPass DB in browser: KyPass prompts "Do you want to accept the browser to communicate with KyPass Companion?" but when clicking "Allow" KyPass doesn't add/create the KeePassHttp entry. Tried with existing and new DB...

Issue with Safari (11.1.2)
When trying to connect "passafari" with KyPass, KyPass quits unexpectedly.

Code: Select all

Crashed Thread: 4 Dispatch queue: HTTPConnection

Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason:
'*** -[__NSCFString rangeOfString:options:range:locale:]: nil argument' terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException abort() called
Unfortunately KyPass isn't usable at all for me :(

Any ideas are very much appreciated!

1. KyPass doesn't add keypassHttpKey in the database. It saves the key in the macos KeyChain. Just do a page refresh after being connected and it works.
2. passafari doesn't work. It's not more supported by Safari.

Interesting. For some reason was unable to connect the DB when I posted. Since then I have restarted my Mac and maybe this solved the issue. In fact I'm able to connect using FF & Chrome today.

With which version Safari dropped the support of passafari? I was regularly using it and didn't do a "major" upgrade (I'm still on 11.1.2)
In any case, clicking the passafari icon in Safari shouldn't cause the KyPass application to crash...

Anyway, thank you for your support and this awesome app!
