CrocoDS v0.1

First version of CrocoDS for macOS is now available !
CrocoDS is an Amstrad CPC emulator and the first version was created for… Nintendo DS.

Don’t hesitate to ask some features. I would like CrocoDS to be the best Amstrad emulator on macOS !

Actually, you have:

  • automatic resize of the main screen (as seen on the Nintendo DS version) and full screen via [⌘F] key
  • copy paste to the CPC (for fast insert of basic code) [⌘V] key
  • light pen support.
  • integrated menu (with the help of @Kukulcan for the icons) [alt] key
  • tabbed window.
  • ssh terminal (via fake emulation but on the real cpc screen – I’m also a sys-admin 8) )
  • load game from the great database of CPC-POWER [⌘I] key

Next version will have:

  • integrated development environnement (like in pico8 but to develop real cpc games)
  • integrated norton commander like (to manage .dsk)

Jeedom

Do you know Jeedom ?

Jeedom is a great french home automation system (and open source). It can be installed on any Linux system (I use it on a Raspberry Pi 2).
With this software, I could control all my home from anywhere.

dashboard

Why do I talk about this software ?

Because, this software is very customizable via plugins. I’m a developper and I love plugins.

Thus, I have created some plugins that could be bought via the market.

These plugins are also available for free on my Github.

News about KyPass 6

It’s been a long time since my last update about KyPass. Sorry about that.

I’ve a lot of news about KyPass.

For the iOS version:

  • I have added One-time password. You could now add a OTP field in your database and use it to connect on all website that supports Time-synchronized OTP.
  • The edit page has been refreshed. I like it and I hope you will be too.

For the macOS version:

  • OTP support (enter otpauth://totp/Example:alice@google.com?secret=DPJBSKY3EHWP3PXP&issuer=Example in a field and KyPass will translate it to the correct secret key)
  • add custom fields in the columns view
  • edit multiple entries
  • add filter on custom fields
  • edit existing import tasks
  • quick view improved
  • attachments could be previewed by pressing the space key
  • (bug fix) entry and group could now be created directly from the sidebar
  • (bug fix) duplicate entry is now working also in search view
  • (bug fix) viewing an entry doesn’t change modification date anymore

As you could see, it’s a lot of improvement for the macOS version and thus I need some time to be sure that all is OK.

I expect to release it 2 weeks.

PS. The name of macOS version will be changed from KyPass Companion to KyPass like the iOS version. No need to add the Companion word.

PS2. I’m also working on a iPad pro version. I’ve bought one.  At home, I use it more that my computer. KyPass need to be more sexy on a tablet !

KyPass tips #4 – The magic combo 1

Sans titre 4One feature I love in KyPass Companion is the magic combo ⌥⌘K.

Do you know it ?

It allows you to quickly open a website you have saved in KyPass Companion or even open a ssh or vnc session if you used to correct url in your entry.

It’s a big time-saver for me.

Obviously, you could change the shortcut but you understand the main idea.

KyPass tips #3 – Automatic import 9

Do you know that KyPass Companion could import a dynamic kdb/kdbx database or .csv file in your kdbx (KeePass v2) database ?

import1How ?

  1. Select the folder where you want to insert/update the exported entry.
  2. Go to File/Create Import Task
  3. Give a name for your task.
  4. Select the URL of the kdb/csv file or select directly the file from the file browser.
For the .csv file, the format is:

    1. Line 1: <fieldname>;<fieldname>;.. with fieldname is title, username, password, url or any name for custom attributes.
    2. Line 2 and others, your values separated by a semicolon

    import2

  5. Enter the password and/or the keyfile if the import file is a kdb database.
  6. Check the ‘add to task’ checkbox. It will save the task in the folder you have selected previously in step 1.
  7. Check ‘update entries’ checkbox if you want that, when then task is launched, the entries are update and not created each time.
  8. Check ‘ignore groups’ checkbox if you don’t want to keep the tree in the imported kdb database.
  9. Click on the ‘run’ button to do the first import.

The task is now created.

import3Each time you want to run again the task, go in View/Display task list and select the task you want to run.

More tips soon (if you like it!)
